The Great Creation of God

This is Tinuy-an Falls in Bislig, Surigao del Sur. It

is a three tiered falls and the view is indeed majestic. The song lyrics, “to God be the glory, great things he hath done…” are the verses that keeps playing in my mind while enjoying the site.
Going there from Mangagoy, we rented a single motorcycle called “habal habal” for 400.00 pesos. The said rate usually includes at least 3hours stay at the falls but we did not stay long and that increased the smile in the motorcycle driver. It means more chance for him to get more passengers.
Entrance to the falls is 50.00 pesos, it is managed by the local government. Unfortunately, there seems to be no good and long term planning that some structures (ugly sheds) and so-so activities that could destroy the natural beauty and ambiance of the place are offered. I am so impressed and moved by the natural scenery but the management is just so lousy. The forest cover responsible for the water falls is not protected at all. Cellophane wastes are starting to accumulate.
I would like to see the pristine beauty be preserved. The only way to do that is for the local governments to ensure that deforestation in the vicinities is stopped and the forests are to be returned to its natural state. The falls should offer a better nature-oriented tourism activities. No ugly structures should be put up such as cement structures, tarpaulin or canvass sheds. Non-sense activities now offered should stop. The food offered should at least be the especialty dishes of the communities, instead of the junk foods proliferating in the stalls. The souvenirs offered should be especialized crafts by the community that represents the culture and geographical majesty of the place, not the china made rtws presently displayed.
